Split/Second, the award-winning racing game from Disney Interactive Studios, is now available for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system. The PSP system version of Split/Second features new gameplay modes and a new track.

Split/Second is an intense action racing game set within a reality television show, in which competitors vie to be the first to the finish line in a made-for-TV city set rigged to blow. In Split/Second, players trigger explosive, devastating events throughout the track that drastically alter the dynamics of the race.

Split/Second for the PSP system offers players the new Destruction mode, in which they target and destroy rival vehicles. The game also includes the new Power Slide mode, in which players drift around the track to gain score and add time. Also exclusive to the PSP system version, players can compete in the Survival Truck mode which requires avoiding rival vehicles and barrels. The PSP system version of Split/Second also includes four-player local multiplayer and a new Docks track inspired by the Shipyard track from the console version. The PSP system version was developed by Sumo Digital in collaboration with Black Rock Studio.

“The intense, fun racing of Split/Second seems perfectly suited for the PSP system,” said Nick Baynes, game director, Black Rock Studio. “Split/Second for the PSP system gives players a whole new way to experience the high-speed racing action, and now players can experience Split/Second on the go and race in all new modes.”

Split/Second was released for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Windows PC and iPhone in May 2010. Developed by Black Rock Studio, Split/Second won numerous awards including the prestigious Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2009, Best Racing Game award.
